So last week, I packed my bags and flew off to New Zealand for the launch of the DC x Royalefam Circus of Mutants collection. Spent three days in Auckland, and it’s such a beautiful place… If only we had more time to do more sightseeing though.

That said, the trip was really amazing! And none of it would have been possible without all the hard work and planning by the awesome people from DC and Loaded. They made it happen, and they made each moment of the trip really unforgettable.

On my second day in Auckland, I had the opportunity to have a mini meet-and-greet session at the Loaded store. I had the opportunity to meet lots of people, some of them fans and supporters, and every one of them a sneakerhead. It’s always an awesome feeling to see all these people gather together, all of them who share a similar passion. Thanks to the guys at Loaded for making the meet-and-greet session possible, it’s such an awesome feeling!

Apart from the meet-and-greet, I had the honour of being interviewed by a couple of radio stations, from Flava Radio, to The Edge and finally to a 95bFM interview with this radio DJ called Richie Hardcore. I don’t think I’ll ever get to meet another guy with ‘Hardcore’ as his last name. Awesome guy, it was definitely an honour to meet so many people in Auckland in a matter of just a few days.

The DC representatives from all the different countries were such great company to be with, even Koichi from DC Japan was there! The day ended with dinner with the guys from DC, and once again, big up to all of you from DC for making this trip possible!

I’ll be in New Zealand this week for the launch of my Circus of Mutants collection, in collaboration with the good guys at DC! The crew was out and about at Red Dot on Thursday night for the Fred Perry 100 Year Bash. The place was nicely done up for the event, and of course the consistently dope threads from Fred Perry were presented on the runway. It was nice to hang out and catch up with my friends before leaving for New Zealand tomorrow for the DC sales conference. I’ll update more, so do check back! Finally got my hands on ChicoSci’s latest album Fly Black Hearts, with the cover art done by yours truly. I’m very happy with the way it turned out, especially the words which I wrote with a paintbrush. Love the effect.

And here are the boys from ChicoSci looking good on a billboard in the Philippines. They were recently in Singapore to perform at the Nike Human Race. Hopefully soon they’ll perform live in Singapore. Check out their songs on Myspace.

In the mood to get my hands all full of paint so we brought out the paint and silkscreened some new tees! The colours turned out really awesome too.

In case any one of you is going to Tokyo… You’ve got to check out this ramen place called ICHIRAN. I wrote about it earlier, and thanks to Koichi for bringing me and the Royalefam crew to this ramen place. Unforgettable.

On Friday, the Royalefam crew headed to Leftfoot Cathay for Hooked Clothings’ ELECTRIC YOUTH design photography exhibition. It was awesome getting to meet up with lots of familiar faces after getting back from Japan.

The exhibition is still on, until 21st November, at Leftfoot Cathay. Do check it out, cos the photographs by Alvin Tang are really awesome, and specially put together in cassette tape cases. The amount of effort they’ve put into this is unbelievable. Also, do check out the dope threads from Hooked Clothings, I was wearing one of their jackets while I was traveling in Japan. Once again, congrats to Alex for making all of this happen!

Luxury brand Hermès has brought its bespoke style to the streets by way of its P.S. I Silk You postcard exhibition and studio. A celebration of individual style, models will be photographed wearing Hermès silk scarves – as a tie, an elaborate headband, a tube top or even a creatively fashioned belt. The end results will be printed on a set of postcards, the front graced with your photograph, the back with sentences left blank for you to compose your own personal note to friends and loved ones. Not quite sure what your Hermès look should be? Take a style note from the exhibitions of 100 celebrities and local personalities who’ve already been photographed for the cause.

All proceeds go towards Beautiful People, a volunteer platform that connects professionals and skilled persons with voluntary welfare organisation.

I was photographed earlier as part of this P.S I Silk You project by Hermes, and I’ve a post card written to someone special. Check out the exhibition, it’ll be along Orchard Road, in front of Wisma Atria and Ngee Ann City. Exhibition is on from 30 October and 15 November, from 11am to 8pm.
